The Urban Moves team led by our Dance Development Officer and coaching staff is beaming with pride following two highly successful events on February 4th and 5th.

Securing Dundee Rep for the first show of the year was an opportunity too good to miss. With a tight turnaround, dancers and their coaches hit the ground running as 2026 kicked off. Just one month later and it was all go!

Over both nights, the vibe was tremendous. There was so much positivity and encouragement from family and friends in the auditorium for all the dancers on stage. The variety of groups highlighted the diversity and pathway within the Urban Moves programme. The very youngest dancers had great fun showing off the confidence they have built. Performances from the company dancers showcased the talent they have been nurturing within the weekly programme.

Senior leaders attending the event shared their enthusiasm:

“It was an amazing experience to see such incredible talent right here in our city. The joy and enthusiasm from the younger performers was heartwarming. The diversity and skill on display were truly impressive and inspiring. “
Gregory Colgan
Dundee City Council Chief Executive

“The performances were fantastic—the energy, creativity, and, most importantly, seeing young people having such a brilliant time on stage was truly impressive. It was a brilliant evening from start to finish.”
Scott Urquhart
Head of Leisure, Sport and Physical Activity Services at Active Dundee

The Urban Moves programme continues to grow each year ensuring children, young people and adults can get active, have fun, excel and improve their overall health and wellbeing.
Plans are already underway for the next show with this amazing Urban Moves dance team and brilliant dancers.
