Active Dundee is delighted to share further positive progress in the continued development of Pickleball across our venues, with the recent addition of kitchen lines to all 8 courts at Menzieshill Community Hub.

This enhancement marks a significant step forward in improving the quality and consistency of our Pickleball offer. The installation of the kitchen lines, completed in early May following planned works means that Menzieshill Community Hub now provides full Pickleball court markings across both sports halls, enabling increased opportunities for both recreational play and organised sessions.

As a result of this latest investment, Active Dundee now offers fully lined Pickleball courts across multiple key venues including DISC, Douglas Sports Centre, Grove Swim & Sport, and Menzieshill Community Hub. This strengthens our city-wide provision and ensures greater accessibility for participants, allowing more people to take part in sessions closer to their local community.

Pickleball continues to grow in popularity locally, with evidence of increasing activity and demand already highlighted through additional weekly bookings and programme developments at our centres. The expansion of dedicated court markings will help support this sustained growth, providing the infrastructure required to meet rising participation levels while also enabling us to attract events, clubs, and structured programmes in the future.

Beyond the local impact, Pickleball is experiencing significant growth across Scotland. The sport has gained recognition as an inclusive, accessible activity that brings people together across all age groups. Its simple rules, smaller court size, and adaptable pace make it particularly appealing for families, beginners, and those returning to physical activity, while still offering a competitive edge for more experienced players.

Importantly, Pickleball is a truly inclusive sport. It can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages and ability levels, making it an ideal activity for intergenerational participation. Whether played socially or competitively, it promotes physical activity, coordination, and social connection in a fun and welcoming environment.

Active Dundee remains committed to investing in activities and facilities that enhance opportunities for our communities. The introduction of full Pickleball courts across multiple venues demonstrates our ongoing focus on responding to emerging trends and ensuring that our services continue to meet the needs and interests of our customers. As an Active Dundee member, you can enjoy Pickleball, Badminton, and Table Tennis for FREE as part of your membership.

We look forward to seeing continued growth in participation and welcoming both new and existing players to enjoy Pickleball across our network of facilities.
