Leisure & Culture Dundee has announced that nominations the 25/26 Active Dundee Sports Awards are now open, with the awards ceremony taking place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Apex Hotel.
The launch took place at The School of Sport at Greenfield Academy which offers pupils a wide range of professional sports coaching classes, that are all linked directly to local community sports clubs and are supported by Active Schools, PE teachers, senior pupil sports leaders and student volunteers.
The Active Dundee Sports Awards will pay tribute to the success of the city's top sports clubs, athletes, schools and volunteers on the same evening. The theme of the awards is “Changing Lives Through Sport” with the awards celebrating the wider impact that sport has on communities, individuals, and schools across the city in addition to celebrating exceptional sporting performances.
Last year's award winners included Cerys Hawes from Kanzen Karate as Sports Person of the Year, Jenna Dailly from Lochee Boxing Club as Young Sports Person of the Year, and Ballumbie Primary as Primary School of the Year.
There are 13 Award Categories this year, each with its own nomination criteria.

Gareth Dailly, Active Schools Coordinator from Active Dundee, who has helped organise the awards, added

Harry was recognised at last year's awards for playing a crucial role in the growth and development of Grove/Menzieshill Hockey Club over the last 30 years.
This year, the headline sponsors are Gym Rental Company and trophy sponsors are Doe Sport, Robertson, Dundee City Disability Sport, Quest Precision Engineering, Sport Dundee, Sportscotland, The Dundee Sports Dinner and Gladstone.
